Hi Richard and Sue,

I wanted to let you know a bit about the sound system I am currently using. I have a large record collection including many different musical styles. My primary collection is jazz albums from the 50s and 60s. I incorporate two turntables in the system. One is a SME 30.2 with a Graham engineering tone arm and Dynavector T cartridge. The other table is a Rockport Technology System three Sirius. Fully air bering turntable including motor. I have an Air Tight P-1 cartridge on that table. My phono stage is an Audio Research Reference phono. I also use their limited edition Anniversary pre amp. For digital equipments, I have ARC CD -8 and their D/A for my music server.

My speakers were designed by Deniz Daldal, a long time compression horn builder. They are four ways using a 15 inch TAD bass driver, a 10 inch TAD midrange driver and a TAD compression horn and compression tweeter. The active crossover I am currently using is a Nelson Pass. All interconnects are Audio Quest Reference signature. Power cords are provided by Shun Mook Audio. I have had the pportunity to listen to many components over my 30 years in audio. I was the owner of Moore, Frankland Assoc., a manufacturer of vacuum tube pre amps and amplifiers.

We were using octal based tubes exclusively in our pre amp with the first gain stage of the phono amplified by the famous RCA 5691. This was at a time when all other audio designers were using the smaller 9 pin tubes. This relationship with Frankland and Moore allowed us to audition many different components.

I was always a big fan of Audio Research throughout the years of manufacturing MFA components. I have the utmost respect for their circuit designs and believe they are pushing the envelope of tube design. Now I find myself a huge fan of Sophia Electric. Sophia Electric brings a magic to the sound that the other singled ended amplifiers I had tried didn't have. I am always looking for resolution but not at the cost of real musicality. The Sophia's middle name should be Transparent Musicality. They have that in spades. It is amazing that this 845 amplifier Richard has designed has the ability to unravel complex musical information with a sense of ease yet never loosing the cutting edge of the transients. It must be obvious by now what a fan I am of all the Richard brings to this audio experience.

All the best for now,

Peter
